This month as part of our Sainsburys STOP! Campaign we hope to be able to stage an event at a major store.
To plan the details, we have booked the hall at St John's for 7:30pm Tuesday 3rd June for all those who would like to participate.
Thursday 5th June : Protest at the G4S AGM in London
A call to action! There will be a large national protest at the G4S AGM in London on Thursday 5th June. Transport will be available for anyone in Edinburgh wishing to go.
We want to send as many people as possible to show our support for this important campaign against those profiting from the ongoing imprisonment of Palestinians- one of many human rights abuses carried out in the name of G4S.
See more at the Facebook event page: Protest G4S AGMThursday 5th June - 7.30pm. Branch monthly meeting.
If you are not going to London then come to our regular branch meeting this month. Meet with the members and help us plan for upcoming events and campaigns or just to take part in discussions about Palestine.
It's at the usual time of 7.30pm on Thursday 5th June at the St John’s Church Centre in the small meeting room. Enter by the door in Princes St.
Apart from the usual business of planning campaigns we hope to have a discussion led by a member of the Green Party.Saturday 7th June - Sainsburys STOP! Campaign
The Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign have been involved in a UK campaign aimed at Sainsbury's supermarkets.
In recent months we have stood outside up to seven local stores gathering signatures on postcards that will be presented to Sainsbury’s management at a shareholders' meeting.
But this month, instead of the usual stalls with postcards and leaflets outside small Sainsbury's stores, we hope to be able to stage an event at a major store.
This will take place on Saturday 7th June. Details will have been confirmed at our meeting on June 3rd.
Thursday 19th June - 7.30pm: Divestment Meeting
We are putting together information in order to persuade the Lothian Pension Fund to withdraw investment in companies that assist Israel in its occupation and other action detrimental to Palestinians.
The next meeting on this project is at 7:30pm on Thursday 19th June, again in the small meeting room at St John's.
